Fermentation event includes three workshops.
They deal the themes that belong to the chances
and fermentation of the environment. The workshops
are intensive periods. Limit on enrolment 15 per
each workshop. The goal of each workshop is to
produce an environmental piece. The workshops are
placed in three different municipalities around Helsinki
area. The workshops are documented with photos,
videos and drawings. The documentation will be
exhibited in Lume Gallery.
Workshops, places and teachers
1. Growth (Master and Student workshop)
The workshop is located at the centre of
Kirkkonummi municipality, West from Helsinki.
The workshop is dealing with multivariate theme
of growth and examining the growth of physical
environment. French artist Genevieve Blons is the
teacher for the workshop. She is known all over
the world of her environmental pieces made by
projections, sounds as well as paintings, dance
and movement.
2. Change (Master and Student workshop)
The workshop is located in Tuusula municipality,
Jokela village, at the northern side of Helsinki.
The workshop is part of the ever-going change
in the environment. The used material is stone.
The teacher for the Change workshop is artist,
dry stone waller, Daniel Snow from US. His
environmental work is bound to the famous
inheritance of dry stonewalling tradition in
Great Britain.
3. Silence
This workshop is located in the forest of Sipoo
municipality of eastern side of Helsinki. The idea
of the workshop is to outline the complexity of
the environment and the atmosphere of silence.
The teacher of the workshop is a Finnish artist
Petri Hytönen. He is known as a skilful drawer
and watercolorist. He has been teaching for
several
years in UIAH.
