These two lists overlap occasionally, as far as I can tell.
(I'm happy to note that even the BBC doesn't attempt to categorize sites, which I've given up any hope of doing ages ago. But then again, they are not quirky and their links don't go stale as easily as on this list.)

A site that can afford to deal with problems the way most computer people would love to can't be bad.

I just added a Russian site above so now I must include something from Finland's neighbour in the west. ArtNet.se links to lots of Swedish galleries and other art sites. From here you can go to the site Stockholm - Cultural Capital of Europe 1998. (And while your at it, Finland's Helsinki is one of the nine European Cultural Capitals in the year 2000.)
Someone asked me by mail for links to Latin American Art. This museum has a good Latin Art link list in addition to its own collection.

(Anomalous Images and UFO files is one of the sites for the real stuff with good links to others. Alien art is still very rare even on the Web. Examples of alien design are a bit more common but are mostly pictures of transport devices. The quality of the images is often less than optimal and the sites showing them are often not reachable for some reason or other.)

While collecting material for our section "Art And Culture on the Web By Country", I noticed the lack of a proper site for Finland in English. So I have started The UIAH list of Finnish Art and Culture sites on the Web. From now on, Finnish sites will be added to this list. (I know, this is also linked to above but people tend not to read headings.)
