Kun-Pyo Lee | Biography
Kun-Pyo Lee is professor and head of the department of Industrial
design at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology,
Korea. He is also director of Human-Centered Interaction Design
Lab.
He studied at Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of
Technology, US. (MS) and Tsukuba University, Japan (PhD).
He was visiting professor at Illinois Institute of Technology,
Tsukuba University and University of Art and Design Helsinki.
Professional experience includes appointments as vice president
of Korean Society of Design Science (KSDS); vice president
for Ergonomic Society of Korea; vice president of Korea Society
for Emotion and Sensibility (KSES); International Editor for
Design Studies published by Elsevier; Judge of Asian Design
Award and Good Design Award.
He consulted design planning and interface design for Samsung
Electronics, LG Electronics, and Johnson & Johnson. Major
areas of research interests include design methodology, human-centered
design, and cultural user-interface design. He also received
many international design awards including grand prize at
1st Osaka International Design Competition, best paper award
at 2nd Asian Design Conference, and best paper award at 2004
HCI conference. He published about 50 papers in oversea and
domestic design journals and presented about 150 papers in
design conferences. |
